Planning Efforts

The following planning activities are underway in the Otay Watershed:
 

Blue pointer Watershed Urban Runoff Management Program (WURMP)
The San Diego Bay Watershed is a combination of three individual watersheds: Pueblo Watershed, Otay Watershed, and Sweetwater Watershed.  The Port of San Diego, as the lead jurisdiction, has collaborated with the County of San Diego and the cities of Chula Vista, Coronado, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Imperial Beach, National City, and San Diego to prepare the WURMP document to comply with the Municipal Stormwater Permit.
  
Blue pointer Otay River Watershed Management Plan (ORWMP)
The County of San Diego, with partial funding from a Proposition 13 grant is writing a Watershed Management Plan for the Otay River Watershed.  The County is collaborating with the City of Chula Vista, the City of Imperial Beach and the Port of San Diego. 

 
Blue pointer Otay River Special Area Management Plan (SAMP)
The Army Corps of Engineers and the County of San Diego are working with other local jurisdictions to create a SAMP for the Otay River Watershed.
