The Carlsbad Watershed Network
(CWN) was created in 1997
to coordinate planning, share resources and find solutions
for the benefit of the entire Carlsbad watershed. The
CWN acts as a clearinghouse for water resources projects
within the Carlsbad watershed.
The CWN meets on a monthly basis.
Participants include agencies, jurisdictions and
non-profit organizations with an interest in streams,
creeks and lagoon resources. Members
include the following:
The CWN
was awarded a Clean Water Act 205(j) grant from the State
Water Resources Control Board in 1999 to develop a
Watershed Management Plan. The Resource Conservation
District of Greater San Diego provides the day to day
management of the study. The Carlsbad Watershed
Network Management Plan, a management plan for the coastal
watersheds of the Carlsbad hydrologic unit, was completed
in February 2002.
